Stephan
Foster joined the faculty of the University of Tennessee College
of Pharmacy as Associate Professor in March of 1998.
He is teaching in the area of Ambulatory Pharmacy Practice
and practicing clinically at the UT Family Medicine Clinic.
His teaching responsibilities include Ambulatory Care
Pharmacy, Physical Assessment, Immunization Delivery, and Patient
Consultation.
Dr.
Foster is nationally recognized in the field of Immunization.
He is on the advisory panel and a national faculty with
APhA’s Immunization Delivery Certificate Program.
Additionally, he is the liaison representative for the
American Pharmaceutical Association to the Advisory Committee on
Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention.
Additionally,
he serves on the Memphis area bioterrorism planning committee and
is identified as the local pharmacist coordinator for the National
Pharmaceutical Stockpile 12 hour Push Pack.
He
retired March 1, 1998 from the United States Public Health Service
Indian Health Service after a 20-year career with the rank of
Captain (O-6). Dr. Foster's assignments in the Indian Health
Service included the San Carlos Apache, Whiteriver Apache, Sacaton
Pima, Maricopa, and Tohono O'odham Indian reservations, all
located in Arizona. He
was trained and certified as a Pharmacist Practitioner during this
time, which allowed him to perform direct patient. In 1990, Dr.
Foster became the Director of the IHS Pharmacy Practice Training
in Phoenix, AZ. In
this capacity, he supported many types of CE activities and
directed continuing pharmacy education.
He is also licensed in the State of New Mexico as a
"Pharmacist Clinician". |
